Exploratory is a unique science centre where the visitors including school and college students participate in the process of science, learn to explore and experiment, design and fabricate and invent and innovate.
In the process, Exploratory trains students, to observe keenly and closely, to excite their curiosity , to provoke them to ask penetrating questions, to communicate to them a sense of excitement in doing science, to nurture and nourish their creativity and innovativeness and to know how learning science is a joyful experience and a productive pursuit.
Exploratory aims at helping students to Learn how to Learn, Learn how to Do and Learn how to Live.
In order to initiate a change in the system, a novel institution called Exploratory was conceived by Professor V.G.Bhide, former Vice-chancellor, University of Pune and was established by him under the umbrella of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, a renowned social, cultural and educational organization. Exploratory is designed to excite curiosity of children, to communicate to them a sense of excitement in doing science, to nourish and nurture their creativity and innovativeness. In Exploratory, children are launched on an unending path of exploration and on an adventure of discovery. Exploratory synergises exploration and education and learning and discovery. In the process, a new and novel Exploratory way of learning and teaching of science has been developed. Instead of reading from the books or hearing from the teachers, in Exploratory children discover for themselves basic concepts in science and are initiated into process of developing applications of the basic concepts.
Very young children should aspire to become scientists.
Make extensive opportunities available to the young students to observe and explore the nature for learning the methods of science. replicate the model developed at the Exploratory by establishing more such centers.
